Silsden AFC returned from the seaside with a point after a 2-2 draw, despite twice leading against high-flying Bridlington Town.
The Cobbydalers got the first goal of the match on a sunny afternoon on the Yorkshire coast, as Jake Taylor-Mountford hit the net from the penalty spot in the 34th minute.
Silsden went in one-up at the break and it took until the 65th minute before the home side could bring the score level, with the second goal of the game also coming from a spot-kick as Joe McFadyen sent Sils keeper Ben Higginson the wrong way.
Substitute Chris Wademan, who’d replaced Taylor-Mountford just minutes earlier, flicked the ball on to create Silsden’s second goal, with Laurence Sorhaindo finishing by firing into the bottom left hand corner of the Bridlington goal.
The North Yorkshire side brought themselves level again within minutes of the final whistle, as Thomas Waudby fired a free kick into the top right corner of Higginson’s goal from the edge of the box.
The draw – in front of a crowd of 200 in Bridlington – means Silsden are unbeaten in five matches and they move up to 10th in the table, with 33 points from their 26 games so far in the NCEL Premier Division.
Silsden’s next game is back at home as they face Goole AFC at Keighley Road at 3pm next Saturday (7th March).
