Proms on the Farm charity event’s return postponed until 2021

The planned return of Silsden’s Proms on the Farm event won’t now go ahead this summer because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

The event took a break after 13 years, following the 2016 gathering in Brunthwaite. The Manorlands fundraiser was due to make a comeback in a new venue – Jackson’s Field on Keighley Road – on 18th July this year with performances from the Sultans of Swing Big Band, the 1960 Four, Tewit Silver Band and soloist Sarah Halstead.

But now the new organising team say they’ve decided the event can’t happen in 2020 because of the ongoing health crisis.

William Jowitt, Chair of the Silsden Proms Group, said: “It was disappointing to have to make this decision as the return of the Proms event had been widely welcomed and several sponsors had already committed to support the event. We anticipated a strong demand for tickets judging by the response we had to the announcement that the event was to return in 2020.

We have already put 17th July 2021 in the diary for next year so the teams efforts will be directed to making that a success.”
