An environmental talk due to take place this weekend at Silsden Town Hall has been cancelled, with organisers blaming the current public health situation.
The government hasn’t yet put any restrictions on public gatherings, but many companies and organisations across the country have scaled back some events, meetings and travel plans as a result of the threat of the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Mark Cocker, who’s a naturalist and environmentalist, was due to give a talk on Saturday afternoon (14th March) at 4.15pm in an event organised by Silsden Campaign for the Countryside.
The group said: “After careful consideration the group has decided to postpone this event in light of the current public health situation. We will keep you posted about the new date as soon as this is confirmed and look forward to seeing you then.”
Anyone who had already bought a ticket can get a refund by returning it to Twiggs newsagents on Kirkgate.
