Silsden AFC earn late draw at Yorkshire Amateur
Silsden AFC remain 13th in the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division after a late equaliser secured a point from an away trip to Yorkshire Amateur in Leeds.
After going in goalless at half time, Danny Forrest’s side went one down around 20 minutes into the second half. Roy Fogarty put the home side in front by tapping in the ball on the rebound when a shot hit the bar following a corner.
Chris Wademan then secured a point for Silsden with a late strike from the edge of the box to make the final score 1-1.
Yorkshire Amateur posted on Twitter that the Silsden ‘keeper had been on top form to prevent them scoring further goals, while manager Neil Sibson wrote: “Football’s a funny old game we snatch a draw late last week and it feels like a victory – and we get another draw today and if feels like a defeat, but that’s footy.
Lots of chances today.”
